World No. 1 T20I batter Suryakumar Yadav scored a quickfire 53 off 28 balls he faced. The Indian middle-order batter came out to bat when his team was in a state of bother after losing skipper Rohit and Pant early. Former Indian captain Virat departed soon after he walked out to bat.
Surya along with Hardik bailed India out with some audacious strokeplay against Afghan bowlers. The main highlight of Surya's inning was his three consecutive sweep attempts against Rashid Khan which rewarded him 10 runs including a boundary and a maximum over square leg fielder.
This was Suryakumar Yadav's second consecutive half century in this world cup. With India's captain and his opening partner Virat not in form, Surya becomes very crucial in India's quest for an elusive world cup trophy this month.
